The Magic Lantern

Just come back from seeing 'The Magic Lantern' at the Kitchen Garden Cafe http://www.kitchengardencafe.co.uk/  in Kings Heath Brm, really enjoyable evening . The MyFace profile says ....a 5 piece Contemporary Folk band using elements of Jazz and Chamber music.......We thought more a beautiful blend of Adem and The Penguin Cafe Orchestra. They are on tour at the moment, also playing at The Secret Garden Party July 22nd.

Sufjan fundamentalists!

We saw Sufjan Stevens last Thurs at Manchester Apollo, dam fine show, but would like to see again. Consequential deafness in right ear due to intimate proximity of shouty Scotsman screaming ‘Sufjan... I fecking love you man’ all evening. Finished off with Chicago

Great start to the May Day Bank Holiday

Great start to the May Day Bank Holiday weekend down in Dorset....
Friday night went up to the Square & Compass in Worth and saw a chap called Gren Bartley, http://www.myspace.com/grenbartley rather good on the old Guitar and Banjo. Five pints of Tom Brown Bitter later, struggled back down the Priests Way talking bol***ks about Plato. Lost the way, found the way, lost tent, found tent, went to sleep upside down in sleeping bag inside out.
