Great gig from Gomez Monday night at the HMV Institute, Digbeth, Birmingham, with a good mix of favourites and new stuff. Think the venue was shifted downstairs to the Library, this made or an intimate sweaty full house with plenty of Brm audience participating. With encouraging shouts of 'Give it some Dong' (big Vietnamese crowd in tonight?) and 'Release the Animal'.
The set list included a few track from the latest 'Whatever's On Your Mind' album, i hadn't heard it before the gig but i will definately be adding it to my collection. A good night, thanks lads. *****

Support: LITTLE COMETS
In support, a punchy performance from 'Little Comets' According to Wikki they are an indie rock-quartet from Jarrow and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. They are described to play 'kitchen sink indie' music. Believe they are playing Reading & Leeds festivals. FESTIVAL REPUBLIC STAGE Leeds Friday 26th August, Reading Sunday 28th August. Mmmmm worth catching them there as i think they might go far. Look out for the washing line.

A classic from the Rob Coles (Guitar/Vocal) was "Sorry were all a bit knackered, played a gig In Dublin last night, on the ferry back we were beaten at footy by some 12 year old Irish kids. They were on their way to Paris. We asked if they were going on holiday, they said, Nor mate... we're gorn on business"
